Green Friday Market Wraps Up in Cairo Showcasing EV Financing and Charging
The first edition of the Green Friday Market wrapped up in Cairo, attracting substantial consumer interest alongside dedicated electric vehicle financing packages and new partnerships to scale public charging points.

High Public Turnout and Diverse Industry Participation
The inaugural edition of the Green Friday Market, held on October 8 and 9 at the Al Masa Hotel in Nasr City, attracted over 30,000 visitors across its two-day run. The automotive gathering hosted 37 exhibitors, including authorized brand distributors, independent dealers, consumer finance organizations, and electric vehicle charging suppliers. This broad industry representation created an informative environment for Egyptian consumers evaluating electric vehicles, allowing attendees to examine zero-emission alternatives and assess their practical day-to-day usability in local operating conditions.
Targeted EV Financing and Strategic Infrastructure Growth
Financial institutions participating in the event rolled out specialized financing arrangements designed to lower initial acquisition barriers for electric models, providing up to 5% cashback incentives, discounted interest structures, and zero down payment alternatives. Addressing charging availability, Electra, an entity under Raya Smart Buildings, entered into memorandums of understanding to install public charging stations throughout key commercial and government properties, while also commissioning operational chargers at the Al Masa Hotel venue. Such tangible infrastructure initiatives remain essential for boosting buyer confidence in Egypt regarding charging access and long-term ownership feasibility.
