BAIC Egypt and Alkan Auto have introduced the hybrid X-Line range featuring the X55e and X7e models, revealing official pricing and upcoming local assembly plans.
Official Launch of the X-Line Range and Pricing
Alkan Auto has officially introduced the new BAIC X-Line portfolio to the Egyptian automotive market, presenting the X55e and X7e crossovers. The distributor announced that the Topline grade of the BAIC X55e enters the market with an official price tag of 1,225,000 Egyptian pounds.
e-DRIVE Powertrain Details and Local Assembly Plans
The vehicles incorporate the range-extended e-DRIVE architecture, which delivers 217 horsepower directly to the drive wheels via an electric motor, reserving the internal combustion engine solely for electricity generation to achieve an operating range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. Concurrently, leadership from EIM and Alkan Auto confirmed plans to establish local complete knockout assembly operations for BAIC vehicles inside Egypt.
